Boris Palant – Of Counsel

started practicing law in 1984. For over 40 years he has represented clients from many countries all over the world. His main areas of specialization are:

  • EB1 Immigrant and O-1 Non-Immigrant Visas (Aliens of Extraordinary Ability) in the areas of Sports, Science, Arts and Business. Among Mr. Palant’s clients were Olympic, World and European Champions (figure skating, speed-skating, roller-skating, boxing, bobsled, luge, tennis; coaches); world-renowned scientists in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Medicine; Arts: performers and composers of classical music and rock-music; opera singers, artists, writers, poets, circus artists, film directors, actors, and cameramen; also businessmen and managers of multi-national companies (media, IT, restaurant and food industries, accounting, art producing).
  • EB2 (Aliens with Advanced Degrees or Exceptional Ability), especially EB2 NIW (National Interest Waiver) in the areas of Sports, Science, Arts and Business. Engineers, scientists, IT-specialists, artists.
  • Asylum. Both affirmative and defensive applications (in removal proceedings).
  • Naturalization (waiver of English and Civics Exams).

Mr. Palant has for many years been a recipient of “Super Lawyer”, “Top Lawyer” and “Top Attorneys of North America” Awards, including an exclusive “Diamond Top Attorney” Award. He has given lectures on U.S. Immigration and Constitutional Law to foreign attorneys, professors and law students at Moscow Higher School of Economics, Kharkiv Yaroslav Mudry Law University, and, most recently, in October of 2024 during his trip to Ukraine, of Kyiv State University, Departments of Law and Military Psychology.

Mr. Palant has authored two books – “Dura Lex” published in Moscow in 2010, and “The Bill of Rights” published in Russia in 2019 in the Russian language and in 2018 in Ukraine in the Ukrainian language.

Having practiced law for 41 years, Mr. Palant is retiring from active practice but will continue to consult our clients in the areas of his specialization as well as other areas of Immigration Law such as Family Immigration and Hardship Waivers. His profound knowledge of law, extensive experience of dealing with most complicated legal issues, and professional integrity will be a great asset to our firm, hopefully, for many years to come.
