Trump’s new executive order about registration  of Illegal immigrants

❗️On January 20, 2025, President Trump issued an executive order requiring all illegal immigrants aged 14 and older to register or face with financial penalties and jail time.

⚠️Registration will be in online account in the USCIS website. Each immigrant who is 14 years old or older must create a separate account. A registration form will be available there. But it is not yet available, and the exact date when it will appear has not yet been announced.

✅After completing registration, immigrants must undergo fingerprinting, after which they will be issued a registration document, which all illegal immigrants aged 18 and older must carry with them.

⚠️Children under 14 will need to be registered by their parents or guardians using their USCIS online account. Upon reaching age 14, a previously registered alien child must apply for re-registration within 30 days from his or her USCIS online account and provide fingerprints.

‼️Registration is not an immigration status, and does not grant work authorization or any other rights or benefits.

✅Exempt from registration:

✔️Indians born in Canada who entered the United States under section 289 of the INA;

✔️Members of the Kickapoo Tribe of Texas who entered the United States under the Texas Kickapoo Tribe Act.

✅Also those who are already registered do not need to register. Registered persons are:

✔️Green card holders

✔️Persons admitted to the United States under humanitarian parole, even if the parole has expired

✔️Persons who entered the United States under nonimmigrant visas and received Form I-94 or I-94W (paper or electronic), even if the period of stay has expired

✔️Persons who were issued immigrant or nonimmigrant visas before entering the United States

✔️Persons in deportation proceedings

✔️Employment authorization holders

✔️Persons who applied for permanent residence on Forms I-485, I-687, I-691, I-698, I-700, even if the applications were denied

✔️Border crossing card holders (Border Crossing Cards).

❗️Who is not registered and must register:

✔️Aliens who are in the United States without being inspected at the border or without legal entry (illegal immigrants)

✔️Canadian citizens who entered through land ports of entry and did not receive registration documents

✔️Individuals who applied for DACA or Temporary Protected Status (TPS) but did not receive registration documents

✔️All aliens 14 years old and older who were not registered and did not provide fingerprints when applying for a U.S. visa and who are staying in the United States for 30 days or longer (must register before the 30 days expire).

✔️Parents and guardians of alien children under 14 years, if the child has not been registered and remains in the United States for more than 30 days, must register the child

✔️Any alien who turns 14 years old in the United States must register within 30 days of his or her birthday.

⚠️The registration is a legal requirement and failing to comply with the process will result in criminal and civil penalties. Additional criminal penalties may be imposed on aliens who willfully fail to leave the United States by failing to notify the federal government of a change of address. Penalties can be include up to $1,000 in fines and up to six months jail time.
