The Green Card application form has been changed and must be submitted with the medical examination form

On December 10, 2024, USCIS published a new version of the Green Card application – Form I-485 “Application to Register a Permanent Resident or Adjust Status”.

The version of this form is signed as – Form I-485 Edition 10/24/24. This inscription is indicated at the end of each page of the form. You can download Form I-485 from the official USCIS website absolutely free of charge at the link – https://www.uscis.gov/i-485

Starting February 10, 2025, USCIS will only accept the 10/24/24 version of Form I-485. Absolutely all older versions of Form I-485 will be rejected.

If you have already filed the old I-485 and are waiting for its review, USCIS will definitely review it, you do not need to file a new one.

Until February 10, 2025, USCIS will accept both – the old version of the I-485 and the new one 10/24/24.

From December 2, 2024, you must file Form I-693 (Report of Immigrant Medical Examination and Record of Vaccination) along with Form I-485. If Form I-693 is not filed, Form I-485 will be rejected.

The new version of Form I-485 has the option to request a waiver of sponsorship instead of filing a separate Form I-864W (Intending Immigrant’s Affidavit of Support Exemption). This applies to those who can prove that they have reliable sources of income and therefore do not need a sponsor in the United States.
