The US Department of State has published application dates for the 2025 Green Card Lottery (DV-2025).
Registration for DV-2025 applications will begin on October 4, 2023 at 12:00 pm Eastern Time and end on November 7, 2023 at 12:00 pm Eastern Time (EST).
DV-2025 results will be available from May 4, 2024.
Registration takes place only on the official lottery website – https://dvprogram.state.gov/
Since last year, a foreign passport is not required to participate in the lottery. It can be done later, if you win.
One person can only submit one application! Submission of more than one entry by one person during the registration period will disqualify all entries from that person.
Spouses can each register their own application – you can register your application and your husband/wife can register his/her application. Thus, your family will already have two applications to participate in the lottery and this will slightly increase the chances of winning.
Remember that winning the lottery does not automatically mean you will receive a green card. The winners will need to collect all the necessary documents and translate them into English, undergo a paid medical examination, pay a consular fee, and then undergo an interview at the US Embassy and receive a US visa.
If you are already in the United States in legal non-immigrant status, then you too can participate in the lottery.
